I could not agree more! The over-customization could send an epileptic into seizures at times. I hated nothing more than visiting people's myspaces only to be lambasted with crazy music. I am quite fond of Facebook, but I'm very selective of those I add as friends but I love that I can have a FB fan page too.

I prefer Facebook over either of them. Customization is lovely, but with customization comes the responsibility of every person to keep the site clean... let alone fully functional. How many myspace pages have you been to that you just simply cannot navigate due to stupid falling images or flashing lights?
You can share links and images with a simple preview on the front page, and if you don't like something, such as the number of posts, from a certain individual, you can simply choose not to show anything they post. Quite helpful when trying to keep the peace.

I don't use twitter often, but I don't really want people knowing about every little thing I'm doing... so I don't think I'd really use it.

Thanks for the response! Twitter and I have a love/hate relationship. The more followers I have, the less relationship I have with the followers. I did a review on HootSuite which has greatly improved my Twitter experience: http://erikamarie.com/blog/hootsuite-a-better-way-to-tweet-on-twitter/
Try it out. I think you'll have a different perspective of Twitter.

I downloaded the Excerpt Editor. I didn't actually take anything word for word in this blog post, but I have used excerpts in others. Can't wait to try it out!

Erika,
I was just checking out your page and saw this article which I found really interesting. I first started social networking with myspace and really love how customizable it is. I've noticed that myspace has really lost its thunder over the last couple of years. The one thing I'm not crazy about with facebook is that it isn't very customizable. Facebook has gone through many changes since I signed up for it. It feels like they've tried to make it more like twitter with how they are managing updates. I still think Facebook is way better for building relationships. I have only been on twitter for about 3 weeks and don't really like it. I know that it has HUGE marketing potential, but I just don't feel like the relationship building aspect of it is as strong. Maybe I'm just using it wrong...
Either way, You should check into an excerpt plugin for wordpress. Excerpt Editor works for me, but I'm sure there are dozens of other good ones.

There's not really much to be sure about. The numbers speak for themselves. Twitter will definitely grow, no doubt. I think they might even make a big jump here very soon because of the advertising, but it could never replace Facebook. While I don't think Facebook will replace MySpace, I think MySpace should do some serious brainstorming if they don't want to lose too many more members. In the race of social media, Facebook is far in the lead.

Well, I'm actually trying to figure out why it shows the full article in the first place. Haha. However, you don't get to see comments until you "read full article" but I appreciate the comment nonetheless!
